Durante generaciones nos han contado el cuento de que la mujer fue creada para remediar el aburrimiento del hombre y aunque a día de hoy hasta la iglesia católica ha matizado su teoría, han sido tantos los siglos de marginación y sometimiento que en la conciencia colectiva aún hay cientos de miles que están convencidos de la inferioridad de la mujer.

El patriarcado siempre ha impuesto sus caprichos, también en los cuerpos femeninos. Cuerpos que transmutan en objetos y son hábilmente expuestos ante las miradas de babosos. El piropo es un coadyuvante utilizado en la fabricación del «prototipo femenino». Jóvenes de todo el planeta querrán parecerse a esos cuerpos perfectos, etéreos, inanimados. Legiones de mujeres someterán sus cuerpos a sofisticadas torturas.

La Comisión Europea de derechos de la mujer e igualdad de género, considera que el riesgo de que los hombres cometan actos de violencia aumenta en una sociedad que no se opone a ella enérgicamente. Entre otras medidas, insta a los gobiernos para que adopten una actitud de tolerancia cero contra todas las formas de violencia machista. Bélgica, es el primer país de la UE que ha dictado una norma que castiga a quienes profieren «piropos» con multas que van de 400 a 500 euros hasta penas de cárcel en casos especialmente graves. El observatorio de violencia de género del estado español, ha hecho un llamamiento para erradicar el piropo por considerarlo “una invasión en la intimidad de la mujer”, señalando que “nadie tiene derecho a hacer un comentario sobre el aspecto físico de una mujer”.

El piropo es una herramienta machista de clasificación de los cuerpos que utiliza el varón para manifestar abierta y públicamente su opinión sobre ellos. Es una modalidad de acoso callejero que perpetúa la cosificación de la mujer, restringe el uso y disfrute del espacio público compartido, y mantiene vigentes comportamientos que deben de ser cuanto antes recriminados y perseguidos.
